We have brought to you the reviews of the important matches that took place in the Italian Serie A this weekend. Here are the reviews-

AC Milan (4)- Leece (3)-

Mario Yepes’ late header following a brilliant second-half hattrick from Kevin Prince-Boateng secured a win and all three points for AC Milan against Lecce in a thriller at the Via del Mare stadium. The home side got a three goal advantage in the match. A header from Guillermo Giacomazzi opened the scoring for Leece, while a Massimo Oddo penalty and a superb Carlos Grossmuller goal made it 3-0 up for the home side.

The match seemed to be over, but Kevin Prince Boateng, who was introduced in the half time, had other plans in mind. He fired a fourteen minute hat-trick to draw the sides level and in the process changed the whole complexion of the game.

Milan kept on pushing for a victory but Leece were resilient and didn’t allow Milan to score but eventually Milan’s constant pressure paid dividends when Cassano found Yepes at the back post to secure the outright victory for the travelling team. It was one of the most remarkable comeback victories in the SerieA since a long time.

Juventus (2)- Genoa (2)-

Juventus and Genoa shared points in match which saw 4 goals scored. Table leaders Juventus were denied of the chance to go three points clear at the top of Serie A on Saturday after a late goal from Andrea Carraciolo earned Genoa a 2-2 draw in Turin. Juventus’ Matri opened the scoring with a close-range finish after six minutes but Genoa skipper Marco Rossi headed his team level just after the half-hour mark.

A couple of minutes later Matri scored his second goal to restore Juventus’ lead. Juventus controlled proceedings from there and Andrea Pirlo looked lively in the midfield. Juventus kept most of the possession of the ball and looked set to win the match and increase their lead at the top of the table, but a late goal from Andrea Carraciolo neutralized Juventus’s lead and they had to be content  with a single point.

Inter Milan (1)- Chievo (0)-

A Thiago Motta header proved to be enough to secure Inter Milan a 1-0 victory over  Chievo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Inter Milan got a victory and the much needed 3 points, but their performance was lacking and left much to be desired. A change of pace from Wesley Sneijder down the left opened up some space but his effort dipped the wrong side of Stefano Sorrentino’s post before Sorrentino had to palm away a dipping Sneijder free-kick following a foul on Maicon. Sneijder took the resulting corner kick and Thiago Motta rose to head the home side into the lead with 34 minutes on the clock.

Inter tried hard to increase the lead as Brazillian Maicon created more than one chances of scoring, but some compact defending by Chievo denied them a second goal. Inter held on to win the match with the slender lead and it marked their second victory this season under coach Ranieri. Inter Milan lie 16th in the league table with 7 points from as many matches, while Chievo lie at the 13th position having 9 points from 7 games.
