La Liga Gameweek Review

Here are the reviews of the top encounters that took place in Spain over the weekend.

Real Madrid (7) vs Osasuna (1)-

Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria propelled table leaders Real Madrid’s 7-1 demolition of 10-man Osasuna in La Liga on Sunday, guiding them to a tenth consecutive victory in all competitions. Argentina winger Di Maria set up the first three goals for Ronaldo, Pepe and Gonzalo Higuain . Ronaldo notched up his second goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 54th when Osasuna had defender Eneko Satrustegui sent off. Ronaldo bagged his fourth league treble this season in the 57th, taking his tally to 13. Substitute Karim Benzema increased the agony of Osasuna with two more goals. Earlier in the match Ibrahima had equalized 1-1 for Osasuna with a freekick that beat Iker Casillas, before Real began the goal fest. The win leaves real with 28 points from 11 games while Barcelona lie 2nd and Valencia 3rd in the table.

 Valencia (2) vs Levante (0)-

Valencia moved into third place in the Spanish La Liga football after winning the city derby 2-0 away to local rivals Levante. Jordi Alba opened the scoring in the 30th minute after a superb pass from Tino Costa.Costa’s swerving freekick, which was completely misjudged by the Levante keeper Gustavo Munua, doubled Valencia’s lead just after play recommenced after half time. Levante tried really hard for the rest of the game to create chances, but were unable to break down a well marshalled defence in which Adil Rami and Victor Ruiz were outstanding. Valencia lie on the 3rd spot in the league table after the comfortable derby win, while Levante lie one point short of Valencia, at the 4th position.
