Stoke City shown interest in QPR winger Junior Hoilett
Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has expressed his interest in former player Junior Hoilett as a possible addition to his current quad.
Hughes who managed the player while at Blackburn Rovers and most recently QPR knows the player capability and what he could contribute to his team.
The Sentinel quotes the new Stoke City boss as saying.
“Junior is a very good player and somebody I have worked with before. He’s obviously started off the season well, but I’m not sure if he’s available. If we are able to bring in players of that quality we will try and do that.”
The player is now playing in the Championship with QPR and is off to a fine start scoring in their 1-1 draw at Huddlersfield.
After suffering back to back relegation from the Premier League with Blackburn and recently QPR the Canadian will no doubt welcome the opportunity to play another season of top flight football.
So far no offer has been tabled for the 23-year old but should one surface over the next coming weeks it would be interesting to see if QPR will be willing to cash in on the young winger.
Stoke City opens the new Premier League season away to Brendon Rodgers Liverpool today and will be looking to continue Liverpool misery of not winning a Premier League game on the opening day in 5 years.
The performances of the team today will determine if Hoilett arrive or not, by then manager Mark Hughes will have a full assessment of his team and will know if he needs to sign the pacey winger.
