Wenger’s post match comments following Monaco defeat
Arsenal fell to French side Monaco 3-1 in today’s Champions League round of 16 tie with goals from Geoffrey Kondogbia, Dimitar Berbatov and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco securing all three points.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger acknowledges his team perform below standard and this is what he had to say:
Wenger: “We had a lot of possession tonight. Our weakness was mentality – we rushed our game and we paid for it. We cannot afford that.”
Wenger: “The task is massive now, the third goal makes it even more difficult but we’ll have a go.”
Arsenal will contest the second leg in France on March 17, three days before the quarter-final draw.
